The votes are in and the champagne has been popped. We’re thrilled to announce the winner of Skyrocket Digital's very first Brand Prize.

The Outcome

Woah, that was full-on. For those who've been following the Brand Prize, you know it's been quite the ride. The buildup was intense and the decisions were difficult. We made it down to five shortlisted candidates which is where things got tricky. But there could be only one...

Hellotractor1

Literally, Groundbreaking: Hello Tractor!

The Washington-based social enterprise will undergo an intensive analysis and strategy sessions with our team, resulting in a visual identity and branding system worth $40,000. We’re excited to link up with founder Jehiel Oliver, to offer a fresh perspective and our skills to his vision for Hello Tractor. Without the typical limitations of a startup budget we can dive deep, discover and shine a spotlight on what makes this organization ground-breaking—literally.
Congrats again Jehiel, let’s get rolling!

A big thank you to all who applied in 2014, and for everyone else please stay tuned for news on a new crop of of candidates for the 2015 Brand Prize later this year.

About Hello Tractor

Hello Tractor rents tractors to marginalized farm communities, and they are beginning their operation in Nigeria. Similar to shared economy platforms like Airbnb and Uber, Hello Tractor uses a collaborative consumption model to make relevant tractor equipment affordable to (predominantly) women smallholders who currently rely on expensive and often unavailable manual labor. The platform is facilitated through an innovative cloud-based tractor fleet management system, customized GPS and telematics hardware units retrofitted to the tractor fleet (for equipment tracking and monitoring) and SMS mobile money payment processing for convenient, cashless payment options.

Their target market includes the 35 million farmers in Nigeria dependant on manual labour for agricultural production.

Why the Brand Prize?

In less than a year the company has generated great buzz in the startup community and received recognition for its objective. The enthusiasm was infectious—apparent in our own office, whenever Hello Tractor’s name was brought up at the table.

Overall, we were drawn to Hello Tractor’s idea of utilizing the co-sharing model in an environment aimed at empowering a community through resourceful application of low-footprint technologies. We value ventures that aren’t just interested in making money, but who are socially progressive, forward-thinkers. Hello Tractor fits the bill.

So where do we come in? Our team will be working with Hello Tractor on messaging, voice and overall identity that better targets their audience. Our mission is to create a brand experience that will propel the company forward, increasing awareness and helping them better communicate their message for their funding efforts. We’re committed to making Hello Tractor’s vision a reality.
